We are excited to share our latest home renovation project, showcasing an ongoing kitchen renovation and staircase work. This video presents a proposed kitchen design and the stunning before and after of a renovated kitchen and staircase. Royal Architecture specializes in old house renovation ideas in Bangalore, ensuring modern kitchen designs and functionality.
This kitchen was almost two decades old, and over the years the space had become outdated, dull, and difficult to use for modern-day cooking requirements. The old kitchen had damaged cabinets, poor storage planning, outdated wall tiles, old electrical points, improper lighting, and an inefficient working layout.
The client wanted a complete modern kitchen renovation with better functionality, improved storage, elegant aesthetics, and long-lasting materials.
So in this project, our team completely transformed the old kitchen into a modern modular kitchen with a premium look, practical storage, durable finishes, proper lighting, and a highly functional design.
In this video, we will show you the complete renovation journey from the old condition of the kitchen, demolition work, civil modifications, plumbing work, electrical changes, tile work, modular kitchen installation, countertop installation, lighting setup, and finally the beautiful finished kitchen.
So make sure you watch this video till the end because this transformation is going to inspire anyone planning to renovate their old kitchen in Bangalore.
Let’s get started
OLD KITCHEN CONDITION
Before starting the renovation, let us first show you the condition of this 19 years old kitchen.
The kitchen had an old platform with outdated granite and damaged laminate shutters. The storage spaces were not planned properly, and because of that the client was struggling to organize kitchen items.
The wall tiles were old and stained due to years of usage. The color combination made the kitchen look dark and congested. There was very limited lighting, and the old electrical points were not suitable for modern kitchen appliances.
The sink placement was not convenient, and there was no proper segregation between the cooking zone, washing zone, and storage area.
The overhead cabinets were damaged due to moisture, and many shutters were no longer closing properly. The old accessories were rusted and difficult to use.
The flooring and skirting were also outdated, which reduced the overall appearance of the kitchen.
Another major issue was ventilation. Even though there was a window, the overall layout blocked natural light, making the kitchen appear dull during daytime.
The client wanted the following upgrades:
Modern modular kitchen design
Better storage planning
Elegant and premium finish
Durable materials for long-term use
Improved lighting
Proper electrical planning
Easy-to-maintain surfaces
Modern backsplash tiles
Functional sink and hob positioning
Maximum utility within the available kitchen size
After understanding the client’s requirements, our design and execution team prepared a complete renovation plan.
DESIGN PLANNING PHASE
Before starting any demolition work, our team visited the site and carefully analyzed the kitchen dimensions, structural conditions, electrical points, plumbing lines, and ventilation.
For any old kitchen renovation, proper planning is extremely important because every inch matters.
We discussed the daily cooking habits of the family, appliance usage, storage requirements, and workflow.
Based on the client’s requirements, we finalized a modern L-shaped modular kitchen layout.
The main focus of the design was:
Better movement inside the kitchen
Efficient workflow
Proper storage optimization
Modern and clean aesthetics
Easy maintenance
Premium finish within budget
We planned dedicated zones for:
Cooking area
Sink area
Dry storage
Grocery storage
Cutlery storage
Utility storage
Appliance placement
We also redesigned the electrical layout to support:
Chimney
Microwave
Mixer grinder
Refrigerator
Water purifier
Under-cabinet lighting
Additional power sockets
The client wanted a modern neutral color combination, so we selected a combination of grey, white, and subtle wood textures to create a timeless and elegant look.
The countertop was finalized in premium black granite for durability and easy maintenance.
For the backsplash, we selected large-format tiles with a marble-finish appearance to create a luxurious and spacious feel.
After finalizing the design and material selection, we started the execution work.
